UKRAINIAN CONTEMPORARY DESIGNS AND ARTS ARE COMING TO THE VIENNA DESIGN WEEK PLATFORM FOR THE FIRST TIME!
Vienna, Austria — This year, contemporary Ukrainian design and art is included in the main program of VIENNA DESIGN WEEK for the first time as part of the project «Kyiv vibes. What matters». This title is an invitation to a dialogue on rethinking values in the context of war and global change.
One of the rooms is entirely dedicated to the kinetic sculptures by the Smith & Winken bureau. The design duo offers a new perspective on the combination of art, design, mechanics, and the laws of physics. The kinetic sculptures by Smith & Winken are like living creatures, full of peace and harmony, and their meditative contemplation leads us to an ideal supernatural world.
The kinetic sculptures Thrinax and Hover was presented at the prestigious French auction house PIASA, which showcases unique works of art and design in June 2023.
A resonant project with the participation of Ukrainian designers and craftsmen, with selective objects in the heart of Paris in the legendary LE BHV MARAIS from February 5 to March 5, 2023.

Under the project RoCOLLECTIBLE 2022, Designers & Crafters, Studio laboratory Smith & Winken exposed kinetic sculptures Tessens at Rossana Orlandi Gallery — the fighting Japanese hand fans, which are symbols of the warrior spirit.
